So, we can say that x lies in (a - ε , a + ε ) and x approaches to a, (x ≠ a). Now the condition that x approaches to a (denoted by x→0) is that for any positive number ε ,however small it may be, the absolute value of ( x - a) should be less than ε. i.e 0<| x - a | < ε the value of x = a is excluded or, a - ε <>
